Like many of you lovely people reading this, when January 1st 2020 hit, I had — or so I thought I did — 20-20 vision of how spectacularly and favourably well the year was going to unravel for me.

Especially in relation to my creative goals, I stated, with embarrassingly bold conviction, that I would “stick to ALL of my resolutions” and ensure that, among other countries, I was heading back home to the UK, not once, but twice within the year. Initially in September for my 30th birthday and also for Christmas and the new year.

It would appear, however, that 2020 had other plans and needless to say, here I am, creative resolutions dashed — sooner than usual — and still here in Toronto, having never left since I returned from the UK in January 2020.

Juuuust to clarify, I’m not out here sobbing “woe is me” for my “first world problems” of not being able to catch a flight home — Hell to the absolute MF categorical NO The good Lord knows that I literally cannot STAND “woe is me” people.

What I am pointing out, however, is that the real-life horror show that was, and unfortunately still is, the Covid-19 pandemic, contributed to my all-around underwhelming show of consistency. It took me several months…
